Got Mold?

MOLD contamination is becoming an increased concern and a growing issue for homeowners, which in turn creates an enormous and potentially costly challenge for the insurance industry.

As a result, the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network, CRDN recently commissioned a study to determine the effectiveness of our drycleaning processes on mold remediation. Available upon request is an executive summary of the study, which was conducted by IAQ Management, an independent, leading expert on indoor air quality testing and consulting.

While mold spores are commonly found in the environment, mold growth contamination on fabric items can lead to problematic odor, discoloration and even deterioration of fibers. In this study, mold spore contamination was found in 58% of water damaged garments, while mold growth contamination was found in 25%. After our cleaning process, nearly 100% of mold spore contamination was eliminated, and mold growth contamination was reduced by nearly 90%.

Importantly, the study indicates that garment quality can be preserved with sufficient response, handling, cleaning and storage techniques, which creates a significant cost savings to you. On average, the cost of restoration is only 16% of the cost of replacement, and the time tested cleaning methods used by "CRDN of the Tri-Counties" have achieved the highest recovery rate in the industry.

Over the past several years, the Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network has developed cleaning processes and formulas specifically for jobs where mold is present. As members of that network, we continue to receive ongoing training on those methods and formulas to ensure that we provide the most efficient service possible. Our crews are highly trained in dealing with mold and wear the necessary protective gear for these situations. We also provide clean storage for homeowners where they can inspect their items after cleaning.

"CRDN of the Tri-Counties" has developed a training seminar on mold remediation and the economics of restoration drycleaning for insurance professionals. If you would be interested in learning more about what was highlighted on this page, please contact us and we would be happy to conduct a training seminar for your company.

Whether a claim involves smoke, soot, odor, water or exposure to mold, "CRDN of the Tri-Counties" offers you an effective, efficient and money-saving solution for your customers' clothing and household textiles and we serve the entire Tri-Counties.
