WHAT IS CRDN?
The Certified Restoration Drycleaning Network (CRDN) is
an international network of textile professionals who specialize
in insurance restoration laundry and dry-cleaning services for
all types of loss including fire, smoke, water, mold and other
contaminants. CRDN serves customers in the United States, Canada
and the United Kingdom.
CRDN was founded on a time-tested model developed over several
years by Wayne Wudyka at Huntington Cleaners in Huntington Woods,
Michigan. This system includes extensive training in chemicals
and processes used in restoration drycleaning, computer software
training on a system specifically developed for the unique needs
of restoration drycleaning and intensive logistical training in
the inventorying, tracking, and storing of a homeowners garments
and fabric items.
Restoration Drycleaning targets the fastest growing category
on insurance claims: contents. On average, textile restoration
costs only 16% of replacement, which means an average savings of
84%. CRDN is a network of the top Drycleaners across the
country effectively bridging the gap between drycleaners and the
insurance
industry by providing RESTORATION of "damaged" clothing
and fabric items at a substantial savings over the high replacement cost
that often gets paid out. As a result, restoration drycleaners
are becoming a valuable partner to the insurance industry, as
well as, Disaster Restoration Contractors. Yet no organization
has systematically provided restoration drycleaning services that
meet the distinct
needs of homeowners and all of these different companies -- until
now...
CRDN of the Tri-Counties, a Division of Ablitt's
Fine Cleaners of Santa Barbara, California has been a
member of CRDN since 2002. Although we have done restoration
work for over 20 years in Santa Barbara, we've never given
it the priority and attention this type of work deserves.
We have been through the CRDN training. We have purchased
the necessary equipment and put the new systems in place.
We have secured the exclusive territory of all 500,000 homes
in the Tri-Counties: San Luis Obispo County, Santa Barbara
County and Ventura County. The Restoration Drycleaning Division
of Ablitt's Fine Cleaners is now called "CRDN of
the Tri-Counties".
OUR BEAUTIFUL FACILITY
CRDN’s facility
at 14 W. Gutierrez Street in spectacular Santa Barbara, California
was built specifically as a cleaning facility in 1930 and has
been one ever since. With real estate in Santa Barbara at stratospheric
levels, we are truly fortunate to own one of the finest cleaning
facilities in the country. The Architect was Rollard F. Sauter,
best known for his classic, subdued Spanish Colonial Revival
works such as City Hall, the Cabrillo Arts Pavilion and Santa
Barbara High School. The Contractor was the legendary Charles
Urton, noted for his extravagant use of reinforced concrete,
which is very evident in Ablitt's/CRDN’s facility as well
as other Urton projects such as the News-Press building and the
Granada Theater. The Dreamer was George H. Merritt, an Englishman
by birth, a perfectionist by nature and a dry cleaner by trade.
Merritt commissioned the project in 1929 and by 1930 had built
the largest dry cleaning facility west of the Mississippi. The
building has withstood the test of time very well, and provides
a comfortable workplace for all fifty of our employees. Rare
for a building so close to the sea, two separate basements house
the boiler room and space formerly used to clean rugs.
